TECHNOLOGY WARM FORGING

What is Warm Forging - The Billet is heated to a temperature of 800°C and forged
(in hot forging billet is heated upto 1150°C)

BENEFITS

Axi-symmetric parts can be formed by Warm forging, with close tolerances,
thereby reducing machining stock.

Overall Yield is in the region of 90%.

Superior finish of forged surface

Since material is only heated to 800°C whilst forging, normalizing can be eliminated
after considering post forging operations

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

The CNC Tool Room was incorporated in December 1997.

In the last 5 years; 5 Software Engineers have been working full time. For 5 X 12 X 5 = 300 man months have gone into developing our Models/ NC Codes for components manufactured by us. We have developed Software programs for 500 components, which include

1. Solid Modeling	500
2. Tool Path Generation	500

Software development is an ongoing process at El Forge as every improvement in the
die is immediately corrected in the program.
